RFSU – a partnership built on sustainability & innovation
For RFSU, every package is part of a larger mission: contributing to health, safety, and choice. As their product portfolio grows and evolves, they need a partner capable of managing both complexity and innovation. Multiply has become that partner – a comprehensive force making product development simpler, more sustainable, and more opportunity-driven.

Background
RFSU has manufactured products within intimate and sexual health since 1933. The company was founded by Elise Ottesen-Jensen to support her work for sexual rights. Their unique model still exists: RFSU AB produces and sells products, while the nonprofit RFSU uses the profits for education. Every product is therefore both a physical item and a contribution to societal change.\nWith around 50 active packaging articles, frequent design updates, and a strong focus on sustainability, RFSU needs a flexible, knowledgeable, and long-term partner. Multiply – who has supported RFSU through several organisational shifts – has grown into that role.
"Our mission requires partners at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. Multiply is a reliable partner who shares our values and provides the support we need."
From idea to prototype – together
Every new format or design starts with dialogue between RFSU and Multiply. Together with RFSU's design agency, we explore formats, functions, materials, and sustainability – often producing multiple sketches and physical dummies for testing at RFSU in Hälsingland. Multiply's production team takes over to print, quality-check, die-cut, and glue packaging – often with RFSU present at the start of the print run. Multiply's printers are known for anticipating needs, adjusting colours and details to match RFSU's visual identity without being asked. "We know the exact tone you want in your red heart – so we've already fixed it," as Anna Boustedt put it.

Multiply stores most items in Falun, replenishes based on quarterly forecasts, and delivers weekly to RFSU's packing facility. When demand spikes – such as during new listings – plans are quickly adjusted.
The collaboration extends beyond packaging: Multiply also supports with artwork updates, product photography, event materials, and material consulting. Multiply has even suggested lower CO₂ carton alternatives that were tested, verified, and implemented in production.
